When asked why he bought the 2009 Kawasaki Concours 14 Grapevine Kawasaki Polaris customer, Keith Vauquelin responded, “I had been looking at the bike since 2008. All the write ups and reviews were good, and I even test rode the 2008 and 2009 model - it was just a matter of time.”
Vauquelin bought a 2009 Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS in October, last year, and has put 1,800 miles on the odometer.
“It is extremely smooth, with lots of power. It’s very nimble for a 650 pound bike and I love everything about it, specifically the power band, and accessory power outlets from the factory.” Keith reports “the bike is exceptionally smooth; probably the smoothest running and best riding bike I have ever owned.”

Keith named his 2009 Concours 14 Constellation, after the retired US Navy aircraft carrier of the same name, CVA-64. “I’m ex-Navy, and a retired commercial pilot. I support our military 1000%. Naming my bikes after US Navy aircraft carriers, for US patriotism, and for the State of Texas is something I do out of love for our country, and Texas.”
Keith has been riding since 2003 and can’t wait to rack up the miles on his new Concours. He has already taken the bike to various places throughout Texas and Oklahoma, and has a trip planned in spring 2010 to Montana and Canada. This excursion will be a two week tour traveling through Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park; he expects to rack up approximately 4,900 miles round trip, there and back to the Lone Star State.
Grapevine Kawasaki won Keith’s business with no pressure, friendly, and professional customer service. “I was given a great deal, and no one else was as competitive. Also the service is superior, bar none in the Metroplex. Everyone always says ’hello’ when I hit the door, and is so very friendly. It is also great to be on a first name basis with the owners.”
Keith also owns three other bikes: ‘90 Honda Hurricane CBR1000F Independence (for CVA-62), ‘97 BMW R1100 RT Freedom (for the writers of our US Constitution), ‘05 Triumph Tiger 955I Republic (for the Republic of Texas). He also plans the purchase of yet another bike, this time a classic cruiser-styled bike in 2011, already named Kitty Hawk, for CVA-63. "I’m working on a sidecar rig for Republic for the summer of 2010 – I have to get all my toys bought before my wife says, “ENOUGH!” and locks our garage door,” says Vauquelin, with a grin.
Keith and his wife, Amy, who rides an S40 Suzuki Boulevard, called Spirit.both love motorcycling, and think it is the best motorsport out there – for both individuals and families to participate in.
